Doris “Renee” Monroe, 64, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2026. She was born on June 8, 1962, to the late Doris and Frazier Hare.
Renee was a vibrant, loving, and selfless woman whose greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was the family she built and cherished. She spent 22 wonderful years married to her beloved husband, Phillip, and together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Phillip; her children, Michael Hare and his wife, Annie; Lora Rogers and her husband, Tony Ioppolo; Connie Brewer and her husband, Brandon Brewer; and Jennifer Taylor. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Olivia, Nicholas, Oliver, Aubrey, Zaydee, Hadlee, Brynlee, and Japheth, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Renee is also survived by her sisters, Sue Baldwin and her husband, Jimmy, and Carolyn Hare Seville; her brother, Wayne Hare and his wife, Sharon; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Renee had an extraordinary love for life’s simple pleasures. She found happiness tending to flowers, spending time at the beach, crafting beautiful creations, feeding the birds, and caring for animals. Some of her most treasured moments were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved beyond measure.
Known for her generous heart, Renee was the kind of person who would do anything for those she loved. She always put her family first, offering kindness, encouragement, and unconditional love. She had an infectious personality, was truly the life of the party, and filled every room with laughter, warmth, and joy. Her vibrant spirit and giving nature touched countless lives and will be deeply missed.
While her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort in knowing she was welcomed into Heaven by her mother and father, whom she loved dearly, and is now at peace.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Renee’s life at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines. Visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m., immediately followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be placed in the donation box available at the service. All contributions will benefit local animal rescue organizations, honoring Renee’s lifelong love and compassion for animals.
Though she is no longer with us in person, Renee’s love, generosity, laughter, and beautiful spirit will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
