Cameron man charged with possession of methamphetamine

A man from Cameron is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a statement issued to Sandhills Sentinel from Moore County Sheriff’s Department.

“On May 7th, 2024 detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop at U.S. Highway 1 at Main Street in Vass, North Carolina,” said Sheriff Ronnie Fields. “Detectives subsequently located and seized (suspected) methamphetamine and items of drug paraphernalia.   

Thomas Dean, 62, was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a 48-hour hold and is scheduled to appear in Moore County district court on May 9 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
