Car flipped on its side in two-vehicle crash

Sunday around 6 p.m., multiple units were dispatched to a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 1 at Addor Road just south of Pinebluff.

When the first units arrived, they found a Ford Fiesta on its side off the roadway, and a Toyota Corolla at the corner of Thunder Road. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage.

Dispatch was immediately notified that the patients in the Ford Fiesta were pinned-in, and additional rescues were dispatched.

The roof had to be cut off of the Ford Fiesta to access the patients. Both were transported to Moore Regional Hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla was the only occupant and refused treatment.

One southbound lane of U.S. Highway 1 was shut down while crews worked the scene.

Highway Patrol was on scene investigating the accident.

Responding to the scene were Pinebluff Fire Department, Aberdeen Fire andRescue, Southern Pines Fire and Rescue, Pinehurst Fire Department, Moore County EMS and State Highway Patrol.
