No serious injuries were reported after a crash left one vehicle overturned on its roof near Aberdeen Lake on Sunday afternoon. The wreck occurred around 3 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Lakeshore Drive in Aberdeen, resulting in traffic delays and one person being transported by EMS.Â
According to officials, the crash happened when a car reportedly pulled into the path of the southbound Toyota, resulting in the Toyota flipping and landing on its roof.
None of the occupants in either vehicle were seriously injured, but one person was transported with non-life-threatening injuries after being examined by EMS on scene.
Both southbound lanes of U.S. 1 were closed for an extended period while crews worked to clear debris and remove obstructions from the roadway.Â
Aberdeen Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Responding units included Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Aberdeen Police, and Rockwell Towing.
