Two people escaped serious injury Wednesday after an accident in Aberdeen that left one vehicle beside train tracks.
The accident occurred on N.C. 5 and Ampersand Road around 6:50 p.m.
The impact between a Chrysler Aspen and Mitsubishi Eclipse sent the Eclipse across N.C. 5 and ended up against the railroad tracks.
Both vehicles suffered moderate damage to the front of the vehicles.
Both drivers were transported to Firsthealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst with non-life-threatening injuries.
Rockwell Towing was immediately called to remove the one vehicle as quickly as possible due to its proximity to the railroad tracks.
Both lanes of traffic were initially shut down while emergency crews worked.
Aberdeen Police were on the scene and is investigating the cause of the accident.
Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Aberdeen Police Department, and Rockwell Towing.
