A Carthage man was arrested on drug-related charges following the execution of a search warrant by Moore County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s department, deputies executed a search warrant in the 1500 block of Camp Easter Road, in the Carthage area.
Jamel Rashawn Verbal, 27, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession of heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintain vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, simple possession of schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Deputies seized 2.5 grams of heroin, 5 grams of marijuana, 7 dosage units of Suboxone, 1 dosage unit of methadone, several items of drug paraphernalia, and $2,102 in cash.
Authorities estimate the street value of the drugs at $680.
Verbal’s bond was set at $50,000, has a Jan. 29 court date, and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
