Carthage woman faces drug charges after search

A 21-year-old Carthage woman was jailed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $110,000 secured bond and faces several drug charges.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said in a news release on Monday that Alexis Locklear was arrested on Friday.

“On March 31, 2023, Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office assisted Moore County Probation/Parole with a search of a residence in the 100 block of Connell Road in Carthage,” said Fields. “As a result of the search, deputies seized fentanyl, amphetamine, items of drug paraphernalia, and items of marijuana paraphernalia.”

The suspect was charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance-(Fentanyl), felony possession of schedule II controlled substance-(Amphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. She was also served with probation violations.

Locklear is due in court on April 20 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
