COVID-19 outbreak The Greens at Pinehurst

The Moore County Health Department has been notified of confirmed positive COVID-19 test results for 48 residents and 10 staff members of The Greens at Pinehurst. In long-term care or congregate living settings, a COVID-19 outbreak is defined as two or more laboratory-confirmed cases.

Testing conducted at The Greens from November 29 through December 2 generated the facility’s positive COVID-19 test results. Weekly testing for all residents and staff of the facility will continue until the conclusion of the outbreak. An outbreak is considered concluded if there is no evidence of transmission following a 28-day period.

With the addition of The Greens, Moore County’s cumulative total of COVID-19 outbreaks in long-term care and congregate living settings is now 15 since the pandemic began. Of the 15 total outbreaks Moore County has experienced, 10 have been declared concluded.

Currently, there are five active COVID-19 outbreaks in Moore County long-term care facilities:

• Peak Resources Pinelake

• Accordius Health at Aberdeen

• St. Joseph of the Pines

• The Greens at Pinehurst

The Greens now joins Peak Resources Pinelake and Quail Haven as facilities experiencing their second COVID-19 outbreak. The facility’s first outbreak was declared concluded as of October 30. That outbreak generated a total of eight confirmed COVID-19 cases.
