Shortly after 8 p.m. on Sunday night, emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle wreck on Dowd Road between Tracy Road and Willow Brook Drive in West End.
Authorities on scene told Sandhills Sentinel that the Honda Accord was traveling west on Dowd Road when it allegedly swerved to miss a deer, went off the road, and struck a power pole.
The vehicle ended up facing the direction it came from with a shattered windshield and airbags deployed. The power pole was broken on the ground.
The single female occupant had no life-threatening injuries and reportedly refused transport to the hospital.
First responders closed that section of Dowd Road as they worked to clear the scene. The power line stretched low across the road, creating a hazard.
The Carthage Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, N.C. State Highway Patrol, and Randolph Electric responded to the incident.
