Every day is sweet at Sweet Fridays

There is one thing that most people can agree on. Fridays are awesome, fantastic, or the best. You can pick your own word. The children’s book, by Chris Barash, probably said it best in “Fridays are Special.” But now, Fridays are also sweet.

Jenny Maczko was a teacher for 20 years until she decided to take a break to spend more time with her daughter. In addition to hanging out with her family, Jenny loves to bake, so she started Sweet Fridays. At first, she was just baking for friends and family, but gradually, it has grown to the point that Jenny has recently bought her first commercial bakery.

Located at 301 North Poplar Street in Aberdeen, where The Bunker store used to be, the bakery is a small location that will overwhelm the senses with the smell of freshly made cakes and other confectionery delights.

Working primarily with her mom, Jenny turns out an amazing amount of product. On the day of her interview with Sandhills Sentinel, she was making 12 dozen cinnamon rolls. Everything Jenny makes is from scratch using only the freshest ingredients.

Currently, Jenny offers, among other things, cinnamon rolls, brownie bites, cheesecake bites, pumpkin rolls, and simple cakes. She is considering offering gluten-free products in the future.

Her Facebook page has almost 900 followers and is growing. Jenny announces on Facebook what she is making, and you can place an order and schedule a pickup time. She has a website in progress.
