Hoffman shooting victim stops at Hardee's in Aberdeen for help

A man who was shot in Hoffman stopped for help at Hardee’s on Highway 5 in Aberdeen on Saturday night.

Richmond County Sheriff Mark Gulledge said the shooting took place on Garry Street.

“The Richmond County 911 center received a call from a gunshot victim of his injuries as he was going to the hospital in a privately owned vehicle,” said Gulledge. “While deputies were en route to the incident location, telecommunicators notified the Aberdeen Police Department of the incident.”

Aberdeen Police Department and Moore County EMS responded to Hardee’s. Paramedics rendered aid at the scene and transported the 37-year-old patient to Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Gulledge said Richmond County investigators identified the man as Tarvarus Toomer, of Hoffman.

“After receiving treatment, he was later flown to an undisclosed trauma center for his injuries,” Gulledge said. “Although the incident remains under investigation, it has been determined to be an isolated incident.”
