Home, vehicle destroyed in Aberdeen fire

A home and vehicle in Aberdeen were destroyed in a fire on Wednesday afternoon. Shortly before 3 p.m., a 911 call alerted first responders to a house fire on Forest Circle, and responding units arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames. 

Emergency crews responded in force, with units from all across Moore County and surrounding areas arriving on scene to help battle the blaze. Extra water had to be brought in through portable water tanks and filled by tanker trucks to provide additional support in extinguishing the fire. 

By the time the fire was able to be extinguished, the home and a nearby vehicle were completely destroyed, and the house was reduced to a blackened frame. 

According to authorities, no one was home at the time of the fire, and no animals were in the house. No injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is currently under investigation. 

Responding to the scene were the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Aberdeen Fire Department, Pinebluff Fire Department, Fort Liberty Fire Department, West End Fire Department, Southern Pines Fire Department, Pinehurst Fire Department, Moore County Public Safety, and Moore County EMS.
