Local Moore County students were awarded Junior Builder’s Cup Scholarships from The Kiwanis Club of The Sandhills on Wednesday. Stephen Henley, of North Moore High School, was awarded the 65th Junior Builder’s Cup. He received a silver bowl and a $2,500 scholarship. Mr. Henley will major in biomedical engineering at UNC Chapel Hill this fall.
Jack Casey, of The O’Neal School, Colten Jensen, of Union Pines High School, and Emma Smits, of Pinecrest High School each received $1,500 scholarships.
The students were nominated from their principles based on academic excellence, participation in after-school programs, and civic involvement.
