A fight broke out during a large house party on Lindal Drive in Robbins Saturday night, leaving one man injured with multiple stab wounds.
Law enforcement and first responders received the call for a stab/gunshot wound just after 2 a.m. Sunday morning. The first arriving officer from the Robbins Police Department located the victim and rendered aid until backup and medical emergency responders arrived, according to Robbins Police Chief Ben Haddock.
“The first officer arrived and found one victim with multiple stab wounds; he was conscious and breathing,” said Haddock. “He rendered aid until medical first responders arrived and secured the scene.”
The victim, who is not named at this time, was taken to Moore Regional Hospital with three wounds—two to the chest and one beneath the ribs. He has since been released with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Chief Haddock, as of now, one person has been charged, with more charges possibly being added soon.
“It’s currently an active investigation, and I see more changes being filed soon,” he said. Further, Haddock told Sandhills Sentinel that charges could be upgraded and additional charges filed against others, but the investigation is ongoing.
In connection with the incident, 31-year-old Edgar Bahena-Soto is facing a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injuries. Later Sunday evening, the Robbins Police Department added charges of intoxicated and disruptive, and the Moore County Sheriff’s Office added a charge of simple affray, according to the Moore County Detention Center website.
Though Bahena-Soto was initially released on a secured $2,500.00 bond Sunday morning, he is now being held without bond and will appear in court on January 8.
This is still a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
