Man uninjured after rollover outside Carthage

A man was able to walk away after he lost control of his car and wrecked on Saturday evening. The single-vehicle crash happened just after 7 p.m. on McCrimmon Road in front of Emmanuel Baptist Church outside Carthage.

A Lexus passenger car was traveling north on McCrimmon Road when the male driver lost control in an S-curve. The car skidded sideways before running into a nearby ditch and flipping over, then finally came to a stop on its passenger side.

As confirmed by authorities, the male driver was the only occupant and was reviewed by EMS on scene, but was not transported.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol was present and is investigating the causes of the crash.

While still on the scene of this crash, emergency units were dispatched to a second serious crash only a mile away on the south side of U.S. Highway 15-501 involving two vehicles, one of which also rolled over.

The responding units were the Carthage Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and N.C. Highway Patrol.
