McDeeds Creek Elementary School celebrated Veterans Day a little early with a family drive-thru event Thursday evening.
Cars with students, some of them in their pajamas, made their way through illuminated archways, past a missing person tribute ringed with luminaries, then along handmade personalized posters of family members before driving past a large screen showing images of family members that have served in the armed forces or as first responders.
Along the way, teachers and staff from the school waved and seemed to be just as excited as their students.
On the way out, they were treated to lively jazz performed by the 82nd Airborne Division Brass Band.
“McDeeds Creek Elementary is the largest military-connected school in the county,” said the school.
