Moore County man charged in child sexual exploitation case

Deputies arrested a Moore County man Thursday on charges related to child sexual exploitation, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Moore County Sheriff’s Office arrested Samuel Grant, 20, of the Spies area of Moore County, in connection with an investigation into child sexual exploitation materials. The investigation was reportedly initiated after Sheriff’s Office Forensic Specialists received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Grant faces two counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was booked into the Moore County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Sept. 18.

The Moore County Sheriff’s Office is an active participant in the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Task Force.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
