Moore County now has an operational back-up 911 center in the event of a disaster takes out the current one.
The back-up 911 center is required by the North Carolina 911 Board.
Moore County Department of Public Safety received a grant from N.C. 911 for over $586,000 to purchase the new equipment such as the Locution Computer Automated Voice Alerting System. This system improves the dispatch and response times.
