The Moore Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) kicks off its 13th season with the Fall Showcase Concert at Union Pines High School Auditorium on October 19, 2017, at 7 PM.
It will feature the string ensemble, the woodwind ensemble and the full orchestra performing Danse Macabre by Saint-Saens, Erin Isle Sketches by Elliot del Borgo, and a Henry Mancini medley among other selections.
Since 2005, the Moore Philharmonic has served the Sandhills as a community-based orchestra for talented students and seasoned adults providing the only full-time full-orchestra experience for Moore County students. It provides an outlet for approximately 50 volunteer musicians to perform varied programs of orchestral literature while expanding their musical experience.
No tickets are required and admission is free, but tax-deductible donations are always welcome.
