This year’s Southern Pines’ First Eve was another huge success. A large crowd turned out in spite of the bitter cold, and great fun was had by all.
There was plenty to see and do while everyone waited for the dropping of the pine cone at 8 p.m. There was a live band playing at the train depot. You might encounter friends, neighbors, Elsa, Olaf, and Storm Troopers.
There was a magician that captivated the audience as he brought children up on stage to assist him with his magic and illusions. And of course, all this led up to the magic hour when the crowd counted down the dropping of the pine cone.
It was a wonderful evening and many thanks to the Southern Pine Business Association, Parks Department, Maison Real Estate Team, Penick Village, Sandhills Pediatrics, Crossroads Ford, and State Farm Insurance; Agent Ward Roland for once again hosting a wonderful family event.
