Despite near-freezing temperatures, the parade marched on to honor Martin Luther King, Jr today, the day of his birth. The march started at the Southern Pines Downtown Park and ended at the Southern Pines Primary School.

As the parade made the turn onto South Carlisle Street, Southern Pines Police Chief Temme could be found shaking the hands of marchers.

The march was sponsored by the West Southern Pines Civic Club, Moore County NAACP, and The Town of Southern Pines.

This is our tribute to the Reverend King and all those that marched in his honor today.
