January 9 is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.  It is a day designated for citizens to support and show appreciation for law enforcement.

To show appreciation for the Southern Pines Police Department, a representative from the Moore Republican Women gave Police Chief Bob Temme a goodie bag, said the department on their Facebook page.

Ways the public can show appreciation:

if you see a police officer, thank a police officer;

change your social media profile picture to one that supports police;

send a card of thanks to local law enforcement;

post a positive story on social media about law enforcement;

wear blue.

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was founded in 2015 with the goal of thanking officers across the country for all the daily sacrifices they make for our communities.
