Jene Utz Anderson, age 72, of Pinehurst, passed away on Saturday, January 05, 2019 at her home in Pinehurst.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Pinehurst Country Club.
Jene was born on April 9, 1946 in Norfolk, VA to the late Turner Johnson Utz and Mary Blanche Scarborough Utz. She was a very active member of the Pinehurst Country Club where she was an avid golfer. Jene also enjoyed playing Bridge.
She is survived by her husband, Preston Anderson of Pinehurst; two sons, Douglas Stephen Sakowski and wife Rose of Clayton, NC and Joseph Turner Sakowski of Duck, NC; a step-daughter, Kate Hood and husband Grant of Brisbane, Australia and a step-son, Luke Preston Anderson and wife Katherine of Kent, England; grandchildren, Cole Stephen Sakowski, Carson Douglas Sakowski, and Cade Hunter Sakowski all of Clayton; step-grandson, Miles Anderson; and a sister, Judith Taylor and husband Robert of Columbia, SC.
