Katherine Ilene Kiser, age 74, of Carthage, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst, surrounded by her loving family.
Katherine was born in Moore County on July 19, 1952, to the late Edgar Woodrow Kiser and Ruth Whitaker Kiser. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Kiser, Dean Kiser, and Phillip Kiser; her twin brother and sister, Faye and Ray Kiser; her former husband, Wayne Caddell; and her longtime partner, Richard.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce Caddell of Carthage and his girlfriend Frances, Jason Caddell of Vass and James Kiser of Pinehurst and his girlfriend Chantel; brother, Maxwell Kiser of Raeford; grandchildren, Laci, Kevin and Michael.
Katherine spent 35 years working as a switchboard operator at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. She loved her church, Emmanuel Baptist, and she loved to sing. Her greatest joy, though, was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, who affectionately called her “Mimi.” She was a loving mother and “Mimi” and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
