Eloise Martha Turney, age 82, of Vass, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 12, 2026, surrounded by her sons.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at New Home Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Butner and Pastor John Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12 until 1. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was a long time member of New Home Baptist Church. She loved working in her garden but most of all spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
Eloise was born in Sanford, North Carolina on July 8, 1944 to the late Victor Stone and Martha McClendon Stone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Ray Turney, son, Robert Ray Turney, sister, Doris, brother, Willis Stone, granddaughter, Kimberly McNeill.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Turney (Thelma) of Cameron, Bobby Turney (Lynn) of Carthage, Phillip Turney of Vass; grandchildren, Leanna, Jessica, Anthony; five great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy Stone.
