A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing a Moore County section of N.C. 22 this weekend that will require nightly lane closures.
Beginning April 16, Fred Smith Co. will mill and repave the highway from the traffic circle at the Moore County Airport to U.S. 15/501. The work also includes shoulder reconstruction and new pavement markings along this 5-mile stretch.
The work will require nightly lane closures from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Thursday for the next three weeks, weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and use caution when approaching the work zone.
