Anna Katherine Fuhrmann, 79, of Southern Pines, passed away at the Elmcroft Senior Living on Wednesday, December 20th.
Her funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church 3253 Niagara Carthage Rd, Whispering Pines on Saturday, December 23rd at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on March 15th, 1938 she was the daughter of the late John and Katherine Bohlert. Anna was raised in the Ridgewood section of Queens and was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School. After graduation, she worked for N.Y. telephone Co., where she met and later married Henry Fuhrmann. In 1968 Anna moved to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and worked at both Vassar College and the Vassar Brothers Hospital. In 1984, they moved to Cary before settling in Southern Pines in 1995. Anna then worked for realtor Jim Horne for many years. Anna had been a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Whispering Pines.
Anna was the wife of Henry Fuhrmann of Southern Pines. She was the mother of Judith Holt, husband Paul and Joanne Ross, husband Don. She was the grandmother of Jessica, Chris and Jenny Holt, Michael Page, II and Zeb Page. Anna was the sister of John Bohlert, wife Betty, and the late Louise Bohlert Gaertner. She is also survived by her great-grandson Michael Page, III.
