Bernie Lawson Thomas, age 87, of Southern Pines, passed away on March 19, 2022, at Quail Haven Healthcare Center in Pinehurst.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel from 6 until 8.
Bernie was born in West Virginia on March 14, 1935 to the late Robert Lee and Lena Snyder Thomas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Barton Thomas, sisters, Inez, Norma, Thelma, Lillian and Cory, brothers, Henry and Willard.
Bernie proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a service manager at Clark Dealership in Pinehurst. He was a loving father, uncle, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Deborah Kuykendall (Charles) of South Carolina, Russell Allen Thomas (Denise) of Pinehurst, Donna Jane Palme (William) of Sanford, Robin Lynn Waters (Michael) of Sanford; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bernie Thomas to Shriners Children Hospital.
