Charles H. Bennett Sr., “Cowboy”, age 81, took his final ride home on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
Born on March 18, 1943, in Moore County, he was a son of the late Curtis Raymond and Hazel Brown Richardson Bennett.
He was a real cowboy, true to his nickname, he drove a semi truck and loved raising his Quarter horses.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Raymond Bennett.
Charles is survived by his children: Michelle Bennett, Sherri Bennett, Charles “Butch” Bennett Jr. (Erin), Justin Bennett (Whitney); girlfriend: Julia Bambauer; grandchildren: Morgan, Preston, Madison; sister: Mary Ann Gray; nieces and nephews: Kirk (Kim), Shannon (Sean), Ryan (Lisa), Ray Jr.; and his aunt Pansy Teague.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Crain’s Creek Cemetery in Cameron at 4 pm with Pastor Jason Cheek officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the home of Justin and Whitney Bennett from 5-8 pm.
