Dorothy Louise Zimmerman Stark, age 103, passed away on July 14, 2023 surrounded by her family at her home in Robbins.
Born on May 25, 1920, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a daughter of the late Walter WIlliam and Marie McLean Zimmerman. She married her love, Calvin on July 5, 1944. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, knitting and sewing, as well as doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Calvin Robert Stark; sister: Marie Kennihan; brother: Walter Zimmerman.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Calvin Robert Stark Jr., Vicki Stark Emmons and husband Kenneth, Steven Douglas Stark and wife Elizabeth, Donna Stark Foster and husband David; grandchildren: Ronald Lee Emmons and wife Tracey, Robert Joseph Stark, Susan Denise Stark, Misty Emmons Bruce and husband Daniel, Alyssa Foster Breedlove and husband Scotty, Hannah Rose Stark, David Mark Foster Jr.; great grandchildren: Joseph Stark, Maggie Emmons, Bella Stark; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 2 PM at Putnam Friends Church with Reverend James Brewer and son-in-law Kenneth Emmons officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 PM and other times at the home. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be offered to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of choice.
