Herman Lamar Pusser, 75, of West End, NC passed away Saturday June 16, 2018 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
He was born December 25, 1942 in Richmond County, NC to the late Ruby Corrinne and Herman Lee “Bully” Pusser. He was preceded in death by his wives Carol Blake Pusser, Iva Stroud Pusser, and Patricia Wright Pusser, a brother Max Pusser, and four sisters Thelma Pusser, Polly Atkins, Jean Brewer, and Mary Blake.
Mr. Pusser graduated from East Carolina and taught science and math for 36 years at Union Pines High School. After retirement, he enjoyed working with his good friend Floyd Jordan at Jordan’s Catering in West End. The Christmas holidays were always very special to Mr. Pusser and he especially enjoyed his annual Christmas tree party and New Year’s Day luncheon. He was an avid fan of the UNC Tar Heels. He loved to work in his garden and share his crops with friends and family. Family was very important to Mr. Pusser and he especially cherished the memories shared with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a generous man, a trusting confidant, and a great friend to all.
He is survived by three daughters Krystal Pusser (Allen) of West End, Renee Overton (Kevin) of West End, and Amy Stroud of Winston Salem; a son Brad Pusser (Melonie) of Whispering Pines; five grandchildren Sarah Bragg, Meagan Pusser, Thomas Pusser, Seth Overton, and Jacob Overton; four sisters Pat Saunders, Peggy Smith, Sarah Britt, and Frances Lewis; three brothers Joe Pusser, Larry Pusser, and Bobby Pusser, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8PM on Tuesday June 19 at Boles Funeral Home 35 Parker Lane in Pinehurst. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 20 at 10AM at Faith Baptist Church 2180 Carthage Road in West End with Pastor Chad Nall officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery.
