Howard Claude Sheffield, Jr. (JR) born May 24, 1953, passed away at home on June 17, 2020.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard C. Sheffield, Sr and Elizabeth Robbins of Carthage, NC; four brothers: Richard, George, Billy, and John. Surviving sisters are Teresa Sheffield of Seven Lakes, Linda Sheffield of Hampstead, NC, Lee Currie (Keith) of Candor, Diana Nguyen (Hung) of Charlotte, two aunts, Louise Sheffield of Asheboro, Edith Kearn of Denton, NC. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
JR as many called him was in a class all his own. He led his life as he chose and was at one with nature. His love of fishing is renown, never saw so much bait and lures as he kept around. He enjoyed working in construction and other assorted jobs. Like his father, he served in the Army for his country.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request you donate in his honor to your Veteran charity of choice.
The family would like to honor JR and say our goodbyes at a memorial gathering on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 6 pm-8 pm At Boles Funeral Home in Seven Lakes.
Due to COVID-19, the amount of interaction will be limited to a set amount of people. There will be a receiving line for the family, and we look forward to sharing this special time for JR with you.
On to the biggest fishing pond ever, JR. We know they will be biting. Thank you for all your wit, wisdom, and laughter. Love you bro!
