James DeForrest Kreger, Jr., 71, passed away, Monday, December 17, 2018 at FirstHealth Hospice House, surrounded by his family.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Greensboro, NC.
James was born in Des Moines, IA, on February 24, 1947. He graduated from the University of Iowa and served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for many years in auto sales, retiring from Mercedes-Benz of Greensboro. James was a member of Westover Church in Greensboro. He enjoyed meeting and talking with all kinds of people. James loved his family very much and time spent with his grandchildren was precious to him. He was known to be a prankster and also enjoyed a good day of fishing. James is the son of the late James, Sr. and Willette Jacobsen Kreger and was preceded in death by brother: Donnie Kreger.
James is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Kathy; daughters: Amanda Kreger Turner and husband Tom, of Rolesville, Courtney Kreger Queen and husband Shaun, of Southern Pines; grandchildren: Gannon and Jillian Turner, Grace and Audrey Queen; sisters: Becky Bales and husband Pete, Melissa Van Patten and husband Mike, Joanne Kreamer and husband Dirk; many nieces, nephews and friends.
