Marie Richardson, 91, of Aberdeen, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Marie was born August 15, 1932 in Carroll, County Virginia to the late Garfield and Rader Burkhardt Bowman. She was one of their eight children.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death her first husband, Lee Roy Thomas (deceased 1979) and second husband, Otis Richardson (deceased 2006), three brothers, one sister, grandson Christopher Boseman, and son-in-law Rick Rhyne.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Wanda Rhyne and Tammy Wardemann (Thorsten); grandchildren, Norman Thomas, Debbie Cockman, Allen Rhyne, and Sean Boseman; seven great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and three brothers, Harvey, Harlis and Gilbert Bowman.
Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend of many. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren. Marie worked as a dietician with FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital until her retirement. Her family remembers her as a wonderful cook, especially her delicious chicken and dumplings, which was her most requested meal.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, 4164 Hoffman Road, Jackson Springs, NC 27281. Marie’s nephew, Craig Hines and Tom Lapkin will officiate.
