Mikel Ray Sadler, 23, of Southern Pines, NC passed away unexpectedly Thursday November 29, 2018 in Sanford, NC.

He was born October 10, 1995 in Pinehurst, NC to Cynthia and Jimmy Sadler. Mikel was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Geneva Perhealth, Thurmon Perhealth, and Mary Alice Blue.

Mikel graduated from Union Pines High School with the class of 2014. Mikel truly loved his family. He met his high school sweetheart, Shelby Calcutt, during their sophomore year. They were married on September 16, 2017. He always made sure that Shelby was loved and would send her dozens of roses when she least expected it. He was a protector and comforter to not only his wife but all of his loved ones. He spent many hours riding four-wheelers with his friends and Shelby. He loved to tease and play chase with his nieces and nephews. His father and his buddies were always at his side with cars and racing. He always looked after his mother, step-mom and sisters to help them whenever they needed him. Mikel had a kind spot in his heart for others in need. He enjoyed the many challenges of repairing any broken motor that came his way. Working with tools and motors since he was a little fellow of only 2 years old, Mikel would soon have the problem solved and the friend on their way.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shelby Rose Sadler; his mother and step-father Cynthia and Chris Groves; his father and step-mother Jimmy and Dana Sadler; his mother and father-in-law Robin and Randy Calcutt; six sisters Megan Lee (Brandon), Aubrey Groves, Marissa Christian, Carly Sadler, Hailey Groves, and Sarah Groves; two brothers Garrett Christian and Caleb Groves; maternal grandparents Benjamin Perhealth and Doris Garner; paternal grandparents Linda and Larry Sadler; three nieces Olivia Lee, Adalynn Powell, and Chloe Fields, and a nephew Easton Christian.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM on Sunday December 2nd at Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines. A memorial service will be held on Monday December 3rd at Aberdeen First Baptist Church at 11AM.

Services are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
