Richard Thomas Sheron, age 86, died peacefully at his home on Friday, December 27, 2019.

Richard was born and raised in Willard, Ohio, the son of the late Morris and Helen Tompkins Sheron.
Upon graduation from High School he joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. Following his service he attended and graduated from Kent State University in Ohio with a Business Administration Degree and while there met and married Arvilla Miller Sheron a loving marriage that lasted for 61 years. He began his career with the Norton Company in Worcester, Massachusetts in inside sales. Six years later he was transferred to St. Louis, Missouri as a Field Sales Supervisor and eight years later was transferred to the Detroit, Michigan area moving to Farmington Hills, Michigan as a District Sales Manager covering the automotive market. Five years later he again was transferred to Worcester, Massachusetts as a Regional Sales Manager with territory from Ohio to California. He was responsible for nine District Sales Managers and 147 sales personnel. His travel schedule was heavy flying almost weekly from coast to coast. His region continuously was number one in sales over the years. After 30 years with Norton Company, he took an early retirement and within weeks was recruited by the Aro Corporation (which later became Ingersoll Rand) to become a Regional Sales Manager in California. He and Arvilla then moved to Newport Beach, California.

He was an avid golfer playing in many Pro Ams throughout the country and entertaining customers extensively with golf. While in Worcester he was a member of Worcester Country Club and also a member of Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio as well as Murfield Village Country Club in Dublin, Ohio. In Michigan he was a member of Meadowbrook Country Club and in California was a member of Newport Beach Country Club and when moving to Pinehurst became of member of Pinewild Country Club with a social membership at Pinehurst CC.

Richard was always a great animal lover and rescued some strays when living in various locations. He will be enormously missed by the love of his life his wife, Arvilla and their two cats, Jethro and Tim.

Funeral Services will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, January 10th at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service following at Pinelawn Memorial Park. A reception will be held at Arvilla’s home on January 10th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. – all are invited and guests are requested not to bring anything.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Foundation of First Health designated to hospice at 150 Applecross Road Pinehurst. N.C. 28374.
