Lois Johnson Wallace, 82, of Southern Pines, NC, passed away on January 30, 2018, at Hospice House in Pinehurst, NC, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Friday, February 2, 2018 at Boles Funeral Home, 35 Parker Lane, in Pinehurst, NC.  A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, 200 E. New York Ave in Southern Pines on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM.

Born May 23, 1935, in Norfolk, VA, Lois was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lillian Johnson of Virginia Beach.  Lois graduated from Durham High School where she met her loving husband of 60 years, Dr. Donald K. Wallace.  She attended the Woman’s College in Greensboro, NC.

Lois and Donald were married in 1957 and moved to Southern Pines in 1964.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who experienced the joys life had to offer with a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.  A woman of many talents and interests, she was equally happy running a band saw or hosting her bridge club.  She was well known for her love of model trains and was a member and sponsor of the Sandhills Central Railroad Club.  Her list of friends to visit and projects to complete was endless.

Lois was predeceased by her parents, as well as her brother, Norris Johnson. 

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Donald K. Wallace and four children; Cynthia Wallace and husband, Richard Craig, of Greensboro, NC;  Dr. Jody Wallace Miller of Durham, NC; Glenn Wallace and wife Kyla of Hillsborough, NC; and Lisa Wallace Cox and husband Matthew, of Chapel Hill, NC;  seven grandchildren:  Dr. Jill Miller Barahona and husband Angel of Greensboro, NC;  Hayden, Lillian and McKenzie Wallace, and Cullen, Owen and Ryan Cox; and a niece, Lynne Holland, of Williamsburg, VA.
