A female occupant was airlifted to a hospital Wednesday afternoon after her Ford SUV overturned on Doubs Chapel Road in West End.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the sole female passenger was traveling down Doubs Chapel Road toward Highway 15/501 when she ran off the road, overcorrected, and flipped.
The driver was transported from the scene by ambulance to a landing zone set up at the intersection of Doubs Chapel Road and Murdocksville Road where Air Care was waiting. Officials on the scene described her condition as stable.
Responding to the scene were Carthage Fire and Rescue, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Moore County EMS, Pinehurst Fire Department, and Eastwood Fire Department.
