Overturned semi-truck sends one to hospital

A driver of the overturned semi-truck was sent to the hospital with minor injuries. 

The single-vehicle accident occurred Thursday afternoon in the 1700 block of Putnam Glendon Road between Carthage and High Falls. 

The driver of a U.S. Foods truck was taken to Moore Regional hospital by ambulance. The trailer was on its side across the road with the cab down an embankment.

Nearby residents heard the accident, immediately called 911 and checked on the driver until EMS arrived. 

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. 

Putnam Glendon Road was closed for an extended period of time. 

Responding to the scene were High Falls Fire and Rescue, Carthage Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and N.C. State Highway Patrol.
