Peach Week in Moore County returns for fourth year

Peach Week in Moore County returns for the fourth year. Multiple events are scheduled to extend N.C. Peach Festival.

Peach Week will run from July 18-26 and feature an array of special events highlighted by a Restaurant Week with more than 35 participating outlets, Peachgrass Festival at the Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities, Peach A’ Palooza at James Creek Cider House, and many more family-fun events, including Peach Pathways as 20 glass peaches will be hidden along trails throughout Moore County and handmade by glassmakers at Starworks.

“Peach Week has grown to become one of the biggest highlights of the summer in Moore County,” said Phil Werz, president and CEO of Visit Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen, in a press release. “It’s great to see how the community has embraced Peach Week over the years. From the restaurants to the many events throughout the week, there is something for everyone and a great family celebration of all things peaches. And it wouldn’t be possible without all the great peach farmers in Moore County that produce the best peaches in the country.”

A total of 36 restaurants, specialty outlets and food trucks are taking part in the Peach Week promotion, but ticketed as well as complementary events include the Run Your Peach Off 5K Fun Run with First Health Fitness, foodie and trolley tours, food truck challenge at Red’s Corner, Putt n’ Peach mini golf at Wee Pines at Olmsted Village, Peach A’ Palooza at James Creek Cider House, Power Cars and Peaches during Peach Night with the Sandhills Bogeys and the Peachgrass Festival at the Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities.

Participating Peach Week restaurants, specialty outlets and food trucks will be participating in the Restaurant Competition in seven peach-inspired categories including breakfast, appetizer/salad, main entree, desserts, cocktails/mocktails, beer/cider and specialty drink. Attendees can vote for their favorite peach creations throughout the promotion by scanning the voting panel QR code found on all Peach Week fliers.
