The Village of Pinehurst announced Thursday their Fleet Maintenance Department has been recognized as one of the 100 Best Fleets in the Americas for 2019.
The 100 Best Fleets program recognizes and rewards peak-performing fleet operations in North and South America. The program identifies and encourages ever-increasing levels of performance improvement within the public fleet industry.
The Village of Pinehurst’s Fleet Maintenance Department consists of a director and two fleet technicians who are responsible for providing regular and preventative maintenance for 103 vehicles and 65 pieces of equipment operated by the village.
“We are proud of this outstanding recognition for our Fleet Maintenance Department and the Village of Pinehurst,” Jeff Sanborn, Village Manager shared. “The staff in our Fleet Maintenance Department do an outstanding job keeping our village-owned vehicles and equipment on the roads and running smoothly in order to better serve our residents.”
Award applications are evaluated on answers provided in the program’s 12 Criteria of Excellence categories: Accountability, Use of Technology and Information, Collaboration, Creativity, Celebration, Evidence of a High Trust Culture, Performance Recognition, Doing It Right the First Time, Quick Efficient Turnaround, Competitive Pricing, Staff Development, and Resources Stewardship.
The Village received recognition as the 76th ranking of the 100 Best Fleets in the Americas program. This is the first time the Village of Pinehurst has participated in this award program.
The winners were announced on April 17 at the NAFA Fleet Management Association Institute & Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, and the list will be published in Governing Magazine.
