A police pursuit ended in a foot chase, with the suspect arrested Tuesday evening.
Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Department attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to display a registration plate. The Montgomery County driver fled the scene on Bensalem Church Road outside of Robbins.
“Deputies pursued the vehicle for a short period of time until the driver turned on to a dead-end road and then into a wooded area where his truck became stuck,” said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a news statement. “The driver attempted to flee on foot from the scene and Deputies gave chase. After a short foot pursuit, he was taken into custody without further incident.”
Benny McBride, 22, of Star, is facing charges of felony flee to elude arrest, fail to heed lights or siren, no liability insurance, reckless driving-wanton disregard, failing to display registration plate, resisting public officer, driving left of center, speeding in excess of 55 mph, fail to stop for stop sign, unsafe movement, and injury to personal property.
The suspect’s secured bond was set at $20,000. He is due in court on March 1 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
