An Aberdeen man with a criminal history was arrested Thursday and faces four charges in Moore County district court on Aug. 26 and nine charges in superior court on Sept. 14.
Jakailen Anthony Blue, 20, who resides at Lori Lane, has bail set as a $90,000 secured bond, according to information from Moore County Detention Center.
Blue faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of firearm by felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of stolen firearm in district court.
In superior court, Blue faces charges of possession of schedule VI controlled substance, flee elude arrest by motor vehicle, maintain vehicle and dwelling place for controlled substance, carrying concealed gun, resisting public officer, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell marijuana and probation violation.
Southern Pines Police arrested Blue on Haley Street.
Southern Pines Police Captain Charles Campbell said the individual whose firearm was stolen from his car on Aug. 12 knew the suspect and had agreed to meet him. After the firearm was stolen, the individual chased the suspect’s car while calling the police for assistance.
Moore County Court convicted Blue on crimes committed on Dec. 20, 2018. He received a suspended sentence with 24 months supervision in the probation program for felony receiving and possessing a firearm and possession of a scheduled VI substance.
Scheduled VI substances include marijuana, hashish and hashish oil.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
