A 60-year-old Robbins man was arrested on several charges to include cockfighting when a deputy was investigating a shots fired report in Robbins.
“On Saturday, January 1, 2022 the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of shots fired in the area of Molesworth Rd which resulted in the responding deputy stumbling upon an ongoing cockfighting ring,” said Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a news advisory.
Thomas Troyer was arrested on Jan. 6 and placed in the Moore County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
He was charged with one count of felony cockfighting and seven counts of instigate cruelty to animals.
The suspect has a Jan. 27 court date and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
