Sandhills Bogeys partner with Toys for Tots

The Sandhills Bogeys are hosting a toy drive in partnership with Toys for Tots of Moore County.

“Toys for Tots of Moore County is thrilled to partner with the Sandhills Bogeys,” said Lois Smart, coordinator of Toys for Tots of Moore County. “The Bogey’s desire to collect toys for the economically disadvantaged children of Moore County is a huge boost for us this season. We will provide toys to well over 40 government agencies, schools, churches and nonprofits amounting to over 4,400 children.”

You can bring new, unwrapped toys on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Bradshaw Performing Arts Center parking lot at Sandhills Community College.

This year, as in previous years, Toys for Tots is short on toys for ages 8-15. Recommended items for older kids are art kits, STEM project kits, remote control cars/drones, and personal care items.

“Kids have always been the heartbeat of our fan base,” said Jay Francis, general manager of Sandhills Bogeys. “We are proud to partner with Moore County Toys for Tots to provide some holiday cheer for those children in need. In addition, we will offer a new Bogeys Kids Club and added Bogeys Youth Clinics this spring. Numerous memberships to both programs will be donated to Moore County youth organizations.”

Sandhills Bogeys will be giving out kid’s tickets to an upcoming game for every toy donation while tickets last.

Over 12,000 toys were given out across Moore County last year.

You can also make monetary donations here.
