Sandhills/Moore Coalition increasing services

Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Human Care announced the following services in light of recent increases in gas and food prices that have impacted the community.

Beginning May 1:

Client Services:

Operating hours are 8:30 – 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. Service is available after 11 a.m. by appointment only. Residents may call (910) 693-1600 and select option 5 to schedule an appointment.

Gasoline vouchers are now available to residents that qualify.

They have increased the number of times per year that clients can receive food from four times per year to six times per year. Fresh produce will be included when available.

Financial assistance is now available twice per year instead of once per year. We can screen residents over the phone to determine eligibility and define their needs, or clients can visit during our operating hours.

Donations:

Food donations continue to be welcome at the Client Services location at 1500 W. Indiana Avenue, Southern Pines Monday through Friday from 8:30 -11 a.m.

Donors wishing to make a restricted donation toward fuel vouchers, dental extractions, etc., can simply indicate this with the donation or by contacting the Coalition.

Resale Shops:

The Resale Shops at 1117 West Pennsylvania Ave., Southern Pines continue to operate normally for shopping, accepting furniture, clothing, household items and food donations.

Clients must be a resident of Moore County to qualify for Coalition assistance. Proper documentation is required. Please email [email protected] or call 910-693-1600 and choose option 5 if you have questions.
