Sandhills Pour Tour Passport Program adds two more stops

The Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) will issue new passports on April 1 for the very popular Sandhills Pour Tour program, as two more stops have been added. The new locations include the Brad Halling American Whiskey Ko. (BHAWK) in Southern Pines and The Buggy Factory by Southern Pines Brewing Company in downtown Carthage.

The program encourages passport holders to earn stamps and win prizes while exploring local establishments. The passports are free and can be obtained at the CVB office in Southern Pines or any of the nine participating locations. Passport holders are eligible for prizes once they visit all locations and receive special logoed stamps from all participating businesses.

Aside from the new passport locations, the other seven stops include Hatchet Brewing Company in Southern Pines, the Southern Pines Brewing Company locations on Air Tool Rd. and Pennsylvania Ave., Southern Pines Growler Company, Pinehurst Brewing Company, Railhouse Brewery in Aberdeen, and the James Creek Cider House in Cameron. Passport holders with fully-stamped passports receive a 16-ounce Sandhills Pour Tour drink container and, through June 1, will be entered to win a pair of day passes to the first round of the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 on Thursday, June 13.

Earning stamps for the passport does not require drinking adult beverages. Stamps will be awarded with any purchase as long as it is made at the participating passport location. After April 1, passport holders with a previous passport must complete the two new stops to earn the prize and be entered into the drawing for a pair of U.S. Open Grounds passes.

“The passport program has been an amazing success, and since we greet all the winners claiming prizes at our office, we know more than 50 percent of them are visiting from out of town,” said Phil Werz, president and CEO of the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). “What we have found is that whether they be a resident or visitor, people love exploring the variety of passport locations in Moore County where they can also dine, shop, or explore the outdoors.”

The CVB has created a special landing page for more detailed information, including a list of local events hosted by passport partners. Visit www.HomeofGolf.com/SandhillsPourTour. The CVB is at 155 W. New York Ave., Suite 300, in downtown Southern Pines. All prizes associated with fully-stamped passports will be presented at the CVB office, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 p.m.
