The Boyd Tract at Weymouth Woods was the site of an epic birthday party Saturday. The oldest known longleaf pine tree turned 470 years old.
Weymouth Woods partnered with a number of organizations to help celebrate. There were a number of activities throughout the day including natural history displays, face painting, food vendors, live music, a burn demonstration, and plenty more.
It also included a hike to see the celebratory tree. A great day was had, and it reminded everyone once again of how important our natural resources are.
