A teenager accused of fleeing from law enforcement in a stolen vehicle was arrested Thursday.
Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced in a news advisory the arrest of a Lakeview man after a vehicle chase and the recovery of a vehicle that was stolen.
During the morning hours of May 5, deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in Lakeview on a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle that was previously stolen from the Aberdeen area.
“The driver attempted to flee from deputies onto U.S. 1 and then down Highway 690 toward Lobelia,” said Fields. “The pursuit ended on a dead-end road off Highway 690 where the driver crashed the vehicle into the wood line and attempted to flee on foot. Deputies quickly apprehended the suspect.”
Deputies arrested Yordy Palacios, age 19. Palacios was charged with felony flee to elude, resisting public officer, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and numerous traffic violations.
Palacios is currently being held at the Moore County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond, is scheduled to appear in court on May 10 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
