The Town of Southern Pines announced that, on May 13, there was a discharge of untreated wastewater of an estimated 1,766 gallons near 125 Lakeside Court. The untreated wastewater was discharged into Mill Creek.
“The Town Utilities Division was notified of the event at approximately 3:50 p.m.,” said the Town in a news release. “All efforts to mitigate wastewater release were taken. The obstruction cleared and system returned to service at approximately 4:30 p.m. on 5/13/26, and cleanup/sanitizing efforts were conducted.”
